vinyasa flow
Vinyasa literally means placing the body in a special way. The class is designed to harmonise breath and movement. Sequences can change depending on the theme and who is in the class. I'm teaching much more of this style of class over the last couple of years as I feel physical yoga should sometimes be confrontational and set us outside our comfort zone.
astanga
Astanga is a dynamic yoga it is the original vinyasa flow founded in the 1930's. It is a set series of postures practiced in sequence, where each movement is synchronised to each breath. This strong flowing practice is like a moving meditation. I'm still very much influenced by this style of practice as it was how I first got into yoga nearly 25 years ago.

restorative yoga
Brings recovery to tired overworked or under used muscles and joints. Poses are held for longer to work deeper into tissue. The class can include some cleansing techniques like gazing and different breathing methods as well as deep relaxation. Cushions, blankets and blocks are often used. Do not underestimate the power restorative yoga has.
