These days it feels an 'unfashionable' to write that word down. As the world seems to speed up. Every nation on the planet is racing to make faster travel connections, prepare and even eat foods quicker and fit in as many things into our leisure time as possible.
As a yoga practitioner and teacher I often see people racing into class, stressed out from work and life overload in search of a space to breathe. I'm always surprised seeing people texting right up until the teacher starts the lesson. (Not often in my classes - I'm pleased to say).
There's a funny instagram reel by the comedian Zarna Garg about this is if you not seen it here's the link
I've discussed here before too about our need to be constantly stimulated with endless scrolling, TicTock videos, as well as keeping up with all the latest shows on Netflix which we binge watch before they're all even aired. Sometimes all of the above at the same time!
I've always been inspired by nature and in particular natural products. Beautiful wood, stone, natural fibres and landscapes. The seasons changing around us and the products that are born from this change. Delicious foods and fragrances. This is a move away from FAST.
I love a simple clean environment to live in. Some of you will know that I've recently re decorated the spare room again which I'm using as a yoga studio now daughter A has moved out (again). I'm loving the simple uncluttered space which is conducive to the practice. See photo above.
I was inspired by a piece of poetry on a reel by mahinnsyed.
The post is a great illustration that our experiences in life can all too often be on a surface level. When we can slow down and listen to the silence, only then can we notice what is missing. Check it out here.
I'll be so excited to share booking information next week for my Norway Retreat 2025. I promise it will bring S L O W, it will give those who come the opportunity to listen and connect with nature and themselves. You can't help be stirred by the wonderful natural backdrop.
I've also plans to run more day Retreats at PAUS. in Cambridgeshire too. I'll let you know about these soon.
Maybe as the seasons change embrace going S L O W more too. Take time to enjoy the textures, colours, smells and feelings around. As well as making time for yourselves on the mat.
