There's so much to offer in London especially over the summer. If you haven't got many trips planned and are perhaps on a tight budget, I thought I'd share some of my favourites with you.
1. Kings Cross
Did you know there are free concerts, cinema showings and 99 ice creams for 99p? Not to mention the fountains, amazing architecture, street food and shops.
2. Columbia Road
On Sundays from 8am the street is filled with a stunning array of flower and plant stalls. I like to set myself a £10 budget. There's great coffee and pastry shops too. Not to mention the bougie crowds and designer pooches.
3. Brick Lane
Again a good one to visit on Sundays. The pop up street food market is deffo worth a visit! It also great for vintage clothes. Spitalfields market and Commercial Road also good with a decent selection of trendy shops.
4. Portobello Market
Over west way, the windy Portobello Road Market has great vintage curios as well as clothing and indepentent quirky shops. Open Monday - Saturday.
5. Battersea Power Station
If you haven't already been it's deffo worth a trip. The sheer scale of the place is so impressive. It's an architectural feast. If you've got hungry young people Gordon Ramsey's Street Pizza is good. Eat as much as you like, adults £16, kids £8.
6. Hyde Park
One of several beautiful London Royal Parks. If you've got family visiting with young kids, the Diana Memorial Fountain is a real hit! The Serpentine Gallery also another London gem.
7. South Bank
There's always so much going on the South Bank. Walk from Waterloo Bridge to Borough Market. I'm loving the look of Asim Waqif's Bamboo art instalation at the Hayward Gallery. Not to mention Tate Modern - always inspiring.
8. Hamstead
Then there's our amazing heath. The open space, Kenwood, Concerts, ponds, fun fairs. I've even spotted a Yoga & Wild swimming event! Hampstead High Street has some nice shops too. Borough Kitchen is a favourite. Also the Creperie (but there's usually a queue), is highly recommended.
9. Church Street Market
I've spent many Saturdays wandering around this very eclectic market. Which runs along side Alfie's antiques and other very stylish, vintage furniture shops. It's round the corner from one of my favourite yoga studio's Indaba. But the highlight (we often go especially for) is the kebab stall. It is 'The Best Street Food'!
10. Art Galleries and Museums
London has loads. Here's Timeout Guide for the best 2023
I'm going to mention too that The Barbican has a free exhibition called Differently Various which is on from tomorrow. It's a collaboration with Headway East, a centre for people with brain injury and they are exhibiting art.
I hope you all have an enjoyable summer.
