Yoga is about being in the present moment, embracing each pose and each breath as it comes along. As yogi's we're encouraged to do this off the mat too.
Ok - so we know it's un seasonally warm and I'm sure everyone (apart from the shops full of knitwear) is enjoying this late summer sunshine. The Fall and Autumn haven't really kicked in yet, so it feels to me even more inappropriate to be thinking about the 'C' word and all that goes with it yet.
In todays society the demands are to have everything now, live your best life and cram in as much as possible. Yet I feel that this can cause so many stresses. If we can slow things down, appreciate the seasons and the smaller things it can help to feel more grounded. I've spoke about the idea of Slow Living here before and the gorgeous Kinfolk books written by Nathan Williams. These are really inspirational and beautifully explore this concept in the home, lifestyle and even running your business.
There is so much to enjoy about Autumn, even though the weather has not yet started to cool or the leaves started to turn and fall. They will. As sure as all the seasons come and go.
Autumn is my absolute favourite season. Being outdoors with a nip in the air and wearing more layers. The rich tapestry of colours and earthy smells. Seasonal roots, pumpkins, squashes, mushrooms and rich hearty greens are available for deliciously healthy and hearty meals.
There's such a lot on offer in and around London too. From walks around Londons many green spaces like Richmond Park or Greenwich. A trip to the numerous Framers Markets for gorgeous, seasonal, unpackaged produce. Even catch a few Halloween vibes with a visit to Highgate Cemetery or venture further afield to a Pumpkin Farm. I like carving and decorating one too!

I also made a cake recently, by the brilliant Jess Elliot Dennison, which embraces Autumn to the full. Here's the instagram reel which inspired me ~ oozing out of my phone.
Check out the Harvest Fair she posted on her feed or the website https://elliottsedinburgh.com/
I too am running a couple of Special Classes this Autumn, including another Yoga/Gong Sound Bath with the brilliant Mark Smallman when the clocks go back on 29th October.
We'll have a bit of fun in a Trick and Treat themed class on Halloween 31st October.
Then I'm going to offer another FREE CLASS on World Kindness Day Sunday 12th November. This was so lovely last year and so I'm more than happy to run it again. I feel this will be a perfect time to celebrate drawing things in, with candles and light as it's Diwali - the Festival of Light.
So maybe lets leave thinking about the 'C' word and turning into Winter for a little while longer and celebrate all that is NOW. Happy Autumn Vibes.
Namaste.
